Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected when someone visits Bullock County Criminal History, how that information is used, and the limited situations in which it may be disclosed. It also explains the separate role of outside search and advertising providers. By continuing to use the site, a visitor accepts the practices stated in this policy.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool so it can process the query and return a result. Bullock County Criminal History does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

When a visitor sends an email, the message is retained as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

Data We Gather Automatically

Site servers receive routine technical information when a page loads, including:

  • Visit timestamps and the pages viewed
  • Device type, operating system, browser, and browser version
  • The device's assigned IP address
  • Time spent on visited pages
  • The referring website, when one is supplied

Cookies and Analytics

Small files called cookies help measure site use, popular pages, and common exit points. Analytics providers combine traffic information for reporting. A browser can block cookies through its settings, though some functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

Collected data supports ordinary site operations. It may be used for the following purposes:

  • Maintaining site availability, speed, and performance
  • Diagnosing and correcting technical faults
  • Directing a submitted query to the proper partner service
  • Understanding which pages are useful and which need improvement
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Bullock County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It publishes general directions to records held by the Bullock County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Alabama Department of Corrections, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a report about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies power the search tools. Information submitted to one of those tools is handled under that company's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those practices are not controlled by Bullock County Criminal History. Visitors should read the partner's policy before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Bullock County offices, Alabama court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Personal information should be shared only after that policy has been reviewed.

Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to choose ads. That tracking occurs through the advertiser's systems rather than this site's own record guidance.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a query submitted through their tool
  • Advertising networks that place ads on the site
  • Government or law enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable standard security measures are used to protect information collected through the site. No internet-connected service can promise absolute security, however, and this policy does not guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be submitted and the data will be removed.

Your Data Rights

Rights can depend on where a visitor lives and which law applies. Alabama's Open Records Act, principally Alabama Code §36-12-40, concerns access to government public writings and does not turn this private site into a government record office. Alabama Code §15-27-6 separately limits disclosure and access after a qualifying criminal record is expunged. Subject to applicable law and the data actually held here, a visitor may:

  • Request a copy of personal data held about that visitor
  • Ask that inaccurate personal data be corrected
  • Request deletion of personal data
  • Opt out of certain processing when the law provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
